Often times we think of manufacturing processes when we consider enforcement of OSHA standards. But we may overlook the challenges for safe work places in warehouses. In Tennessee there are many manufacturing plants that have attached warehouses, but many warehouses are free standing ones in our state as well. Although there are no OSHA standards pertaining exclusively to warehousing only, loading, unloading, and order picking present different challenges than manufacturing processes do.
With the assistance of TOSHA we are offering a new course designed to cover the particular problems for safety compliance in warehouses. Of course this would necessarily cover loading dock safety as well.
This workshop is suitable for safety professionals, supervisors and managers who have responsibility for warehouses. It would also be appropriate for hourly employees who may be members of safety committees which deal with this area.
